I Am G-Pops...Part 1

From my personal journal:   My grandson makes me laugh more than any other reason because he is so much like my boys and specifically his Dad . He has an amazing spirit. He is filled with wonder, strength, curiosity, and love. He has a strong will and will not be deterred. He has compassion and never accepts anyone around him being hurt, sad, or in some way not seeming happy. Amazingly intelligent, stunningly handsome, a gentle soul, and everything I would like to be as a grown man. He is a miracle. His mother and father went through it, just like I and my son's mother did with him. The end was worth all that had to be done. His mom, and my new daughter, agree... He is a miracle. He is Bentley. He is my grandson. He is still a boy. He is also the best grandson one could ask for. (And yes, I AM biased, wanna fight?) That is why he will *always* be my B-Boy. Subscribe here as well...

I Am G-Pops...Part 2

From my personal journal My granddaughter brings me a sigh of relief.  First, because she was not named Schlotsky, as my son always said growing up.  That is another story for another day... Maybe...      Keep in mind, I knew my son's name would be Matthew before I had a driver license! Instead, he and my new daughter, Lakelyn, carried my and Matthew's middle name to the third generation. Ezra Rain. It was a relief... As we have all experienced those latter rains when the day needs some cooling off, but no one wants to get drenched. That easy rainfall; It refreshes and lifts the spirits and you usually don't expect it when it comes. It brings a smile when you get caught in it. Maybe even a quiet laugh. Sometimes, it can take your breath and make you sigh as you wonder whether you will need an umbrella. She is beautiful. She makes you fall in love or at least remember what it is like to. She is ahead of her time. She is a miracle. She *is* my EZ-R

I'll never get that disease Cause I've had it

We made it down to New York With everything intact But as for getting back It was Boo who made the joke They don't give you any hope But they'll leave you plenty of rope And Dan came in from Jersey He went to get the drums And if Buddy ever comes We can get it off the ground I hope someone's coming down Else I can't see hanging around Oh, experience is cheap If that's the company you keep And a chance is all that I need And I've had it I've had it So we all just started playing And then something strange occurred Not a person stirred Oh, it started out one way But it turned out to be okay And I felt that somebody should say Oh, experience is cheap If that's the company you keep And before you know that it's free You've had it You've had it Like most amazing things It's easy to miss and easy to mistake For when things are really great It just means everything's in its place When everything was over And we loaded up the van I turned and

The Best Song by Carlos Santana (*OR* The Story I hope To Tell.)

Winning  by Santana One day I was on the ground When I needed a hand Then it couldn't be found I was so far down that I couldn't get up You know and one day I was one of life's losers *Even my friends were my accusers* In my head I lost before I begun *I had a dream but it turned to dust* And what I thought was love That must have been lust I was living in style When the walls fell in And when I played my hand I looked like a joker Turn around fate must have woke her 'Cause lady luck she was waiting outside the door I'm winning I'm winning I'm winning I'm winning I'm winning And I don't intend losing again Too bad it belonged to me It was the wrong time and not meant to be It took a long time and I'm new born now I can see the day that I bleed for If it's agreed that there's a need To play the game and to win
